Halo 3 launches into stores today

SYDNEY 25th September 2007 – Microsoft Game Studios today announced that the groundbreaking “Halo 3” is now on store shelves across Australia and exclusive to the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system.
By the end of the week, fans in 37 countries will be playing the game Wired magazine recently called “a cultural touchstone, a Star Wars for the thumb stick generation.”
From the legendary Bungie Studios, the critically acclaimed first-person shooter (FPS) continues the story of Master Chief in the Halo trilogy which has gripped gamers around the globe. With the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance, Master Chief is the only one who can save the human race in this much anticipated third installment in the Halo franchise.
David McLean, Director of Xbox, says, “Excitement couldn’t be higher for ‘Halo 3’. An astonishing one-in-four Xbox 360 owners have pre-ordered the game in Australia and we’re expecting ‘Halo 3’ to set new sales records for not just video games but the entertainment industry at large.”
