I have tried on several occasions now to find out why I cant connect to Xbox live. The modem I got when connecting to broadband was a DSL-302G. I rang the Optus (un)help line 3 times & got diverted to a call centre in India or Pakistan (somewhere like that) they were as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike! Not only were some of them unsure, you can barely understand what they are saying. Some say make sure settings are set to automatic, others give a manual IP address. When there was issues with the PPPoE noone at Optus knew what to do!
I rang the xbox help number as well. Still no good. They suggested ringing the ISP. Did that again and, you guessed it, another off shore (un)help line centre!
I have been given varying reasons why I cant connect, modem is incompatable, modem software requires updating or generally they say "dont know"
Surely there must be some other Optusnet users out there. Has anyone else had issues connecting up to live as well? I would really appreciate some help to get me online

Are you using an Xbox or a 360?
Have you run the test to see where it fails with connecting? This can help alot in pinpointing the problem.
If you are using a 360, it gives a fair bit of information which may help you fix the problem.
