Yeah the title is to get ur attemtion.

Heres the story:
I buy my XBOX :) I Play with my Xbox, I realise I don't got no Music on My XBOX
So I decide well I have 200Gbs of Music on my computer why not burn some to a CD.
WRONG MY XBOX SUCKS~!!!!!
So I simply burn a CD/R and/or CD/RW and place it in my XBOX. All it says is:
"The disc is not a Recoginised XBox Cd." "Please insert an XBOX game disc or a DVD Movie"
"Remove the disc to contine"

I swear I have been to atleast 6 Forums and OMFG they all say its impossable or i don't know. WRONG.
My next door neighbours Xbox can read burnt Audio cds WHY CANT MINE!!!!

I swear if anyone can help me fix this problem i'll name my freekin baby after you ffs.
Cheers in advance.

only specific brands of burnt CDs will work. check what brand your neighbour is using.

Is it a new Xbox, or secondhand. Maybe you have a faulty disc dive, which is unable to pick up burnt CD's???

You need to use re-writable cd's. If that is not working then I'm guessing your doing something wrong when ur burning them. You also need to make sure your burning them onto disk as CDA files not MP3.

yeah people always told me that it had to be a CDA format but I could never find a program that burnt it in that format. also yes my xbox is brand new from store about 3 days old. Can't be a faulty Cd drive.

do you have nero? well if you have any normal burning program, make sure you select create new "Audio CD" and drag your mp3's into that. CDA format is just a name for the regular cd format which music cd's are, like the store bought ones.
To check if your in the right place, you should be able to fot around 20 songs on a disc, if you can fit hundreds, then your in the wrong place.

Any CDRW disc use to work for me, it always had trouble reading CDR's though for some odd reason. Just burn it as a standard Audio disc in any program.

Depending on what drive you have your xbox might not be able to read cd-r/cd-rw's for memory. Can someone post that pic of all the xbox cd drives. I use TDK discs and they work a treat. Is it an Xbox or 360? I'm guessing its an xbox but yer i could be wrong

Yeh i think he's talking about a Xbox (old school)
Here's the xbox drives pictures.

Thomson

When the Xbox first became available it came with a Thomson DVD drive. Unfortunately, these drives are notorious for being unable to read most CDR media, and are generally regarded as the worst drives in terms of the variety of media that they can read.

Philips

Philips DVD drives started appearing in Xboxs in mid 2002. The consensus seems to be that these drives can read more disc formats than the Thomson drives but not as many as the Samsung.

Samsung

This drive is widely regarded as being the drive that reads the greatest variety of media. It can be identified by two circular wholes in the DVD tray. Used in Xbox consoles manufactured since September 2002.
