Hey guys, I recently purchased a Teac LCHD3241 32" (80cm) LCD HD Television which has been great so far. Picture quality and HD crispness have had me in awe since I first saw it in the shop.

Recently though, I picked up my 360 and while 1080i is great, I've got a problem with 720p. A couple days ago I set it to 720p on the dashboard and realised that it cuts out nearly 2cm down the right hand side of the display (ie. there is a vertical black line not being used on the far right side of the display). It is not a HUGE issue, as everything still looks great, it's just that I would really like to get the full potential out of my display. I have tried fiddling with the settings on the TV and cant find a solution, or even a way to center it. I've also sent an email to teac Tech support (couple days ago) and I'm not really expecting to hear back. I might try to give them a ring later, but in the mean while do any of you have any ideas? has anyone experienced something like this before? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys. :)

EDIT: Just had an idea that it might be the 360 and not the TV, not sure tho - I've went thru the 360's settings a million times already - I'm not too great with this stuff :(

i have the same issue with some games on my LCD - 720p seems to push the screen an inch across to the left.

Are you using component or VGA cables?

I'm assuming u ask cuz the 360 VGA cables cant display as good resolution at the component. Na, I'm using the out-of-the box HD component. :(

Hehe na cant agree with that 1 mate. I work in electronics retail and trust me, I know their reputation. But compare this baby to most of the low range 32" LCDs and it's picture kills similar samsungs, acers, sanyos, etc. I spent a long time looking for a decent LCD in my budget and I couldn't have asked for more. Other than this minor issue I can't complain. Really recommend it :D
(edit: also with a 2-3yr warranty through teac u cant go wrong, -altho I paid a bit extra for the JB HiFi 5yr warranty just in case :D)

I just put an order for the TEAC 42" 1920x1080 screen. Value for money it seems awesome, plus some good reviews too - should get it by the w/e.

Anyway onto your issue. My brother bought this screen too and he had to adjust the image stretch and reposition the screen to get it to fit - but once fit its 100% spot on perfect with a picture thats sensational.

This was using a VGA cable thought - not sure if the component one will let you do the same.

VGA cables run at 1360x768, thats better then 720p. I'm guessing he asked because VGA perhaps is running in 16:10 and not 16:9 (as widescreen monitors run at 16:10 where as TVs run at 16:9) So if you have it running in VGA it would have a black bar on the side as the resolution is meant for a 16:10 monitor, I'm not sure if this is correct, but it's my small understanding.

VGA running at 1360x768 is 16:9, not 16:10... you only have to check the ratio between the numbers of the resolution to confirm that.

Hmm would anyone reccomend getting the VGA cable? is it better than the component? might it solve my problem?

If you could tell me how he fitted it to the screen I'd be very thankful as I've looked through the manual and the TV menu quite a few times now.. maybe I'm just slow :P

Possibly when using VGA cable on this panel it gives you the movement/stretch options? Honestly I cant remember which part of the menu system I used to do it - but it was very straight forward.

The manuals for the TEAC are pathetic IMO - you're best just going through every menu option and seeing what each one does.

Yeh, great value on a TV, not the best manual. :P
From what I understand I may be only able to to adjust the screen parameters when it's on the PC (VGA) source.
I think I'm going to order in one of the VGA connections. VGA seems good as well (better in some respects) and hopefully it'll fix this problem as well. :D

im pretty sure it will. Im sure when hooked up to my brother's TEAC we could mess with the positions. Can't wait for my 42" TEAC now - being delivered on saturday. Just gotta get rid of my 32" HD CRT now :P
