Hey guys,
Ive just purchased a new samsung LA32R71BDX, which I will be picking up tomorrow. Now I was wondering which would be better to hook the 360 up to the telly, the VGA or the component?? Ive heard a few different things like VGA looks better but the colours are a bit washed out. Another thing is are the after market cables just as good as the offcal MS ones?? Im sure they would be, but was wondering if there was anyone here that could say for sure, Thanx for your time.

I have a Samsung 26" and am using VGA. Yes, the colours are less vibrant than Component but I actually prefer it that way, they somehow seem a little more natural. VGA also allows the screen to be run at its native resolution essentially sharpening up the image.

I use vga, colour has a slightly washed look but the edges have a sharper look. Either way you will be pleased.

When you say its able to be run at its native resolution (1366x768 I belive on this panel) does that mean there maybe black panels on some games?? As far as I knew, once I hooked up the component cables, its just a matter of changing ir from 480 to 720 (or maybe even 1080, does the interlacing degrade the image much??) and to wide screen and off i go?

I got the Samsung LA32T51B, is VGA a better looking picture than Component for that unit?

Picked it up for just under $1400 at Retravision.

Just as well too because the picture on my 42" LG Plasma just cut out today for no apparent reason. Bloody things less than 6 months old. Phoning LG tomorrow! :ogre:

I didnt get it as cheap as I had hoped but I still feel i got a good price. I originally walked into Domain, which had 2399 on it I belive, asked the sales assistant what the best he could do was. He came back with 2350!! I said I have seen these go for just shy or 2000, he gave me a funny look and did the whole "this is what we pay" bla bla bla.

So I walked out of there and went up to harvey norman where I spoke to salesmen and told him that JB had offered me 2100 on one (even though I hadnt even been to JB at this stage :P) and he said well what did you want for it, I said well Ill take 2050, he goes away for a couple of mins, comes back and says yup, leave me a $100 deposit and ill print up the work, I said ill go get the money and be back.

I then went to JB and told them how much i had been offered and he came back with 2000, so I figuered Id take that and save myself the extra petrol in going from store to store and just settle with that. I was hoping for around that and got it with little effort. Im sure if had of haggled and frove around a bit more I could of get it a bit less, but with 3 tired kids, my fiancee getting bored, I figured Id settle at that and be happy :D

If you dont mind me asking, how much did yours set you back and where from??

Ive used both component and VGA on a SONY Bravia LCD... Panasonic Viera Plasma and a computer monitor... and I would say component looks better.. although VGA seems to have a slight edge in the crispness.... but I way prefered the colour of component... gave images more depth
