freezing

ok heres the problem,
my xbox 360 cuts on fine, but when i start playing a game it freezes like 2 min. into the game. Also, when it freezes, these wierd white boxes pop up. Ive been through all the troubleshooting and whatever on the microsoft web page and even called the helpline...vertict is that i gotta send it in...and it sux cuz my warrenty jus ran out :cry: does anybody have any idea how to fix this problem??

How can your warranty have run out? It's 12 months.

At a total guess if your getting little boxes on the screen its probably something to do with the actual laser, either your disc is scratched or there might be something wrong with the lens. I assume you've checked with a few games though.

If its an aussie xbox then you shouldnt have any problems with getting it replaced. Mine got the ring of death last week so i rang microsoft and they said they would repair it asap.They didnt even ask for any proof of purchase, so long as your xbox hasnt been registered by anyone else.
