Does anyone know if there are any reported problems with 360's running while vertical? Its just I remember with the PS2 there were problems when the system was used in the vertical position such as discs getting damaged etc. I think even Sony themselves said the system shouldn't be run in the vertical position.
Vertical for me, more stylish ;)

Have run mine vertical since release, not one problem here.
If Sony said themselves that the PS2 shouldn't run in a veritcal position then I'm suing them because they sell 'genuine' platforms to that particular use.
I have my 360 vertical, takes up more air space but less desk space.

Horizontal for me, much safer and prevents accidently knocking it over or the console damaging the discs.

Horizontal for me, fits nicely into my entertainment unit with the stereo, dvd, hd set top box, foxtel etc.

yeah I've got mine horizontal, only reason being I don't want to take the risk of completely damaging one of my disks by it being knocked over. And yeah it just seems logical, aren't their vent holes on the side where you would be standing it up with? and wouldn't it be blocking off air to the console?
Cheers

Horizontal. It's a big enough squeeze with the VCR, HD STB and DVD Player without complicating matters further. It also looks neater as all the others are laying down. The cabling at the back of the TV is another matter though :chortle:

Well, its a big horizontal for me too.. makes more sense since you can put more stuff on it horizontally than vertically.. (drinks and heavy textbooks not advisable) :D

Yeah I have to admit it looks nicer on the horizontal, and yeah I thought the same thing samueljay because yeah the air comes out the side or bottom when vertical.

I have mine horizontal, it just squeezes onto my computer desk next to the tower, monitor and printer lol. I think its a lot safer for the disks having it horizontal, surely if you have it veritcal a slight bump of the desk would make the disk wobble a lot more than if u have the console horizontal.

I sit mine horizontal, But either way it wouldn't matter to the peformance, Consider your enviorment, If no but you touches the 360 and there no chance of children knocking it over etc vertical won't be a problem.

I would recommend horizontal. I had the dog come in and knock it over while vertical, which ruined my brand new copy of oblivion.

Well its designed to be able to work like that and I guess some people may only have the room to have it vertical.

I don't see the problem with it being vertical, as long as you have some support for it either side. Otherwise, you'll always worry about it being knocked around.
I've only got room for it horizontal, but it is better, as it's safer, and more convenient - and you won't put the disc in the wrong way up, or as Morgon said, lol.
Why vertical? Maybe becuase we can't put it anywhere else.
I've got it vertical on top of the cabinet, mainly becuase the TV fits in it's hole the HD Set Top box and HD DVD Player sits in their hole, the stero sit in its hole, and all of the trophy’s sit in their hole, and down the bottom is all of the video's and whatever the hell is down there now. Plus we have photos on top of it, so it just stands there with the pictures.

mine sits verticle on the floor hidden away in a corner (love those wireless controllers, only need to touch the xbox to change cds, disk stacker anyone ? =). No probs here, and we have tile floors so they keep it nice and cool. Never had an overheating issue yet.
