Hello peoples...

Not sure if I posted this is in the right section...

Basically I've been living in Europe the last couple of years and I'll be coming home at the end of September to live in Oz for good.

Just wanted some advise\ideas on how to get my xbox360 back safely.

Basically the options I've thought of are:

-Put it in the mail with lots of bubble wrap and post it back
-Put it in my main luggage all wrapped up as tight as I can
-*Put it in my hand luggage and don't let it out of my site

*Only problem with the last option is I'm going around Singapore for the day on my way home (14 hour stop over). I don't particularly want to carry a xbox360 around with me the whole time, I would probably have to get a locker at the airport or something... not sure how safe that is.

Would love some advise on what you think would be best, including options I haven't thought of!

Cheers!

Thats what I would do. I would pack everything else away and keep the console in your backpack. Atleast you know it is good hands.

Singapore being a very strick city law and punishment wise, I'm sure a locker at the airport will be ok.

Thanks flaps,

I'll have to double check that I can take it on the plane, in the UK at the moment you can't take laptops, water bottles, basically anything on as hand luggage (because of terriorist scare the other day)... you can only take wallet and medication if you have any.

I'll have to check if I can take it on in Holland.

Cheers, Doc

Send it back by Courier and have it insured that way if it is damaged they will have to pay for it. They will pack it really well for that reason. It may be a more expensive option but it is definately the safest and it won't get lost. I work in the Airport cargo industry and trust me it will not get treated gently even if you put fragile stickers on it that just means it will just get thrown around even more.

Its not just airport industry its any cargo/freight industry. Fragile just means throw.

Tis true unfortunatly but i still think a courier would be the best option because i doubt TheDocta will be able to take it onto the plane.

yoh dude..i still think you should bubble wrap it even if u're putting it in your luggage. better safe than sorry! and i'm ashamed to say that even though i'm singaporean, i'm not sure of the locker system in the airport, but i'm quite sure it will be safe if there was one. and if you want ideas on where to go and EAT!!!! let me know!!! damn.i miss home already. :spin:

Thanks for all of your replies... hmm I think I'll rule out putting it in my normal baggage from what you guys have said re: throwing of luggage. I was going to put a beer stein in (packed tightly) that I 'obtained' from Oktoberfest last year, guess I wont be doing that now so cheers for heads up!!

I'll have a look into the cost of a courier and also see if I'm even allowed to bring an xbox on board to see if that's an option or not.

Hey bananakarma if you could PM on some must see stuff in town that would be fantastic!! My stop over is like from 7am - 9pm or something, not sure how energetic I'll be after flying from Amsterdam (13hours ish), but I'll want to make the most of it when I'm there!!

Cheers, Doc :D
