Memory Card - how do I use the thing?

A mate gave me this memory card which has some stuff on it - I think it might be the files needed to softmod his xbox.

Anyway...

He told me I can just plug it into the memory card slots on my controller and I can access the files (I have a modded xbox).

Tried it, but it doesn't seem to do anything.

In the end I want to be able to copy the files off the memory card and burn them to CD. I can FTP to my xbox so that isn't a hassle, it is just that I can't see where this memory card is.

Fair enough, but I am not talking about modding. I am talking how the heck do I get the info off the memory card to a CD?
