I am eagerly to play with this game - I am such a newbie (not noob :chortle: ) of this "poker" game - I am still struggling how to play, even I am still losing while I was playing with GUN game.
Any tips?

So, if you download the game within those 48 hours, it's free permanently?
Or just for those 48 hours(and then it reverts to the trial version)?

Shane'll be happy about the Persistent Bankroll thing...the prospect of losing everything will keep dickheads from going all-in every hand just to be a pain in the ass.

I had 2 pair Q9 on the flop... went all in and some chump stayed in with 35... as if you'd go in with those cards.. anyway on the turn 3 then river 3...
the game awards moronic play... they just keep dipping into their accounts.. might start playing on 5000+ tables.

Single player is absolutely shit. AI cheat like hell. I don't think i'll touch the single player again.
Multiplayer on the other hand is excellent. Slow interface yes, but at least every action has the timer. I doubled my online bank roll already. Buy in at $3000 with a full table gives some nice pots. I've added a heap of you guys to my friends list, hopefully i can get some invites.
Obviously over the next few days the men will be separted from the boys and you won't have to put up with shit players that call all in every hand when they've got nothing.

Actually poker is going to ruin my life. 360 poker anyway.
My wife discovered poker for the first time last night. She hates the 360 with a passion, but last night she gave it ago from 9:30 and didn't get off until midnight. Shock horror!
This is not in her character. I want my 360 back.
By the way guys how does it feel to be beaten by a girl?
She played a tourniment last time first up and she won it. Now either she's lucky or people she played against were shit.

but hey, its free and its fun.. can't really complain can i.. its probably worth 200 points, id be reluctant to even spend 400 on it now i've played a hundred or so hands with it. the achievements appear to present a bit of a challenge also which is good :)

If you play singleplayer on the cheapest table, ie lowest binds, lowest buy in, the Xbox Live Arcade will 'sponser' you, and you don't have to pay. And you still get to keep any money you make, over the 400 they spot you.:D

Well, because the bets are small on that table, if you want to make any significant cash, it's going to take forever. It's good for getting the hang of it though, without loosing all your cash at the start of the game.

I had a quick go last night, probably on the non-ranked tables.
I won $150,000 in one hand then got bored after a few hands of playing properly and just kept putting "ALL IN" and kept losing everything and just kept getting more money out. On the plus side I unlocked a couple of achievments.
lol
I guesss if the ranked tables have some sort fo structure to the way money is given then it could be somewhat interesting.
where is the petition to play for MS points? hoho
the lower tables are for chumps and beginners. As soon as you have the cash, you'll want to move up a table. On the beginner tables you always get people who go all-in on their first hand no matter what in an effort to make more cash. You don't get fools like that in the higher up tables.

WTF is up with the 360 freezing in the friends list??does it happen to any one else or is this my SECOND DUD 360?

first multiplayer game i had today, joined the same 15000 game as tom1111. I lost 4 times in a row and just kept getting more money out the bank, slowly crept my way back up to 60k then went all in for the next 2 rounds and got up to 175000 lol! Gotta love beginners luck :D
I had mine freeze when I was accepting an invite in-game.

Does anyone else find that most the time you go 'all in' vs the CPU they'll fold?

ok well if anyone wants to add me I'm in.
(just not tonight).
I can see the addiction in this, especially with some scotch and dry.
It saves when you leave a table.
Saves after every hand actually :( Found that out the hard way

Makes it real easy to win, just call all 5 cards, then after the fifth card just go all in.

Only problem is people are going to call if they have a decent hand.

Yeah, but you can usually tell - atleast if it's the CPU - as they will 'check' instead of 'raise' on the last card.

I was thinking you were referring to pro players.

So, if you download the game within those 48 hours, it's free permanently?
Or just for those 48 hours(and then it reverts to the trial version)?
anyone????

I probably won't be buying the game if that's the way it is going to work. I have a very basic understanding of the game and find it tedious. Not having a headset atm could be the problem but the game is to slow for my liking..

It's free for good I believe.. 98% certain ;)

If anyone wants to send me a FR and invite me for a game feel free. I'll mostly be on live from ~7pm onwards.
Looking forward to some great poker nights :) coz i have skills....yeh

Yeah, after reading through the scrolling info bar on XBL, I'm almost certain that it's permanently free as long as you download it within the 48 hours.

As has been said a few times already, it's a little slow, what's with the camera moving above the table when dealing, then back down to the side? Just annoying. Other than that, great fun. :)
Sorry to anyone who has sent me game invites over the last 2 days, a mate has been staying with me and he's been hogging the 360. :p

Did you know you could control the camera yourself with the right thumbstick? I was so excited when I found that out. It gave me something to do while everyone else was "thinking".

Yep. But when it does it before or after (can't remember when it does it now :p) dealing is annoying. It's wasting time damn it! :D

Come on, it's got a whole 52 cards to sort out. You can't expect it to do that instantaneously. :silly:
Besides, it gives you time to further taunt everyone because you just won with a 2 and a 4 in your hand. :chortle:

What happens if you run out of multiplayer bankroll? I've seen that the single player gives you free buy in on the lowest table. Is there something similar for MP?

Not a bad game online... Gotta love watching the tools going all in, with no idea... Mmmm Mmmm
MINUS<< Not a good game for Plasma's :) Not much table animation leads to easy burn in, especially of the player boxes, and logo from the center of the table.
I'm loving it so far, especially playing against the guys on XBW, I particular enjoy my little stoush with Dom, would have been 2 up on him last night, but as I almost clocked up a 24 hours of poker so far, I was fatigued and gave it all back.
Round 3 soon Dom :D

Im starting to get good at this game (or either just playing noobs), just unlocked the $1,000,000 bank roll achievement, won it all at the one table lol!
I just wish the interface wasnt so damn slow waiting for everybody to press A when it notifies that someone doesnt have enough money to keep playing and stuff like that.

I am so far into debt on the Match Bankroll, I think Bill is going to come and break my legs
I need more people on my friends list, I am nice, honest.
Played COD2 online, and this one yank wouldn't shut up, he talked and talked and talked the whole time. Was my first game ever and got 10 DM kills....anyways. Need some Friends to play poker against
Okay I need a little rules help here.
When I was playing with some XBW guys here, I was told after checking a flush draw because I was only holding a small flush card in my hand, I was afraid I'd lose to someone who a better flush card in their hand because all five cards count. But was told that unlike pairs where all kickers CAN count, flush draws only matter with the high card and the ace on already was the board.
I'm totally convinced now that that is indeed correct, but I'm playing single player at the moment and this has happened.
I hope a 10 of clubs
Opponent a J of clubs.
On the board is a K, Q, 7 and 5 of clubs.
The computer said that I lost to the guy with the J of clubs, even though his win only mentions "King High Flush".
I'm confused.

in a flush it counts the highest card, if there's a draw on that it moves to next and so on... you were right the first time.

Basically, your hand consists of your five 'best' cards. So, in the above, your hand was a flush, KQT75 and your opponents was a flush KQJ75. Since you both have the K and Q, it moves down to the next highest cards. He beats ya, so you lose.

Thanks guys.
So I was right to fear you Dom. :D
