Gamespot game N3 a slammingly bad review. Can be read here. (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/ninetyninenights/review.html?sid=6155689&tag=reviews;img;0)

I guess every level must be like the demo, which was fun, but yeah could get boring.
apparently Famitsu that japanese gaming site/magazine gave N3 quite a high rating and dead rising quite a low rating.
So maybe its actually a good game but just very asian style.

I guess in the end it really doesn't matter what review games get. It all comes down to personal preference.

That review said what I was thinking after playing the demo. I too found myself using the basic attacks most of the time as the combos didn't seem worth the effort.
Still I think the game deserved at least 65 as it's a solid if unimpressive title.

Holy crap! If you haven't yet, you should definitely go read the Gamespot and IGN reviews of N3!
They absolutely hated the game! And this isn't the 'the gameplay is shallow, therefore it's bad' kind of rational hatred either. This is the 'the developer came to my house and bashed my mum in the face with the game' kind!
From both reviews, it seems pretty apparent that the game does nothing to advance the genre aside from the increased number of enemies onscreen. There are also some annoying glitches like the cutscenes ruining combos/special attacks/item pickups.
But then, both reviewers go further to make the game seem like the anti-christ in compact disc form!
- IGN points out that the game has no multiplayer mode, suggesting that it's only natural the shallow gameplay is accompanied by shallow options.
- IGN comments on the 'unexciting' extras, which include a special bonus mission for each of the game's 7 stories as well as character art/bios. They then complains that one playthrough is all that's needed to unlock most of these extras.
- According to IGN, N3 'doesn't last long', because you can 'complete the main game in 20 hours and go back to complete achievements, and level up characters' but you wouldn't want to, because why would you 'subject yourself' to 'replaying the same scenarios?'
I'd quote from Gamespot, but they don't really even talk about the game enough to quote from...
It looks like the game drops the ball when it comes to offering an improved experience over a Dynasty Warriors game, and I guess that's cause for punishment! I'm still keen to play the game though, but then again I'm one of those people who is content to mash 2 buttons over and over and watch my character massacre hundreds of enemies in one hit.

im surprised that the game is sounding rather shallow seeing as its from the KuF guys, i was hopeing that there would be similar strategy elements but i guess its just an action slasher which is fine with me also, i enjoyed the demo immensely.

I should have mentioned before that I'm getting the game regardless. Big Dynasty Warriors fan and pretty happy with frantic and repetitive button mashing. :spin:
There hasn't been much mention but the wacky KuF guys at Phantagram have another game in the works. A third person actioner based in the KuF universe in the Devil May Cry vein, I've seen some art work a few places and it appears you play some ass kicking elvish princess or something similar.

Meh, I don't particularly care what their reviews say. I liked the demo, so I'm still going to get it.
Scores shown on GameRankings range from 50-90%, so it's obviously not for everyone.

N3 demo was awesome no doubt.
Reviews are shit, as someone said it's your opinion not theirs you should be thinking of.
Also i thought the dead rising demo was poo.

the fantasy/goblin setting was never going to work - should definitely have had some chinese or japanese historical influence. I thought the kingdom under fire series was substandard at best. I did like the N3 demo though, it was fun to just hack and slash. and i did like the dynasty warriors series up to a certain extent. good fun for about 10 or so hours.
i think IGN and gamespot are getting way hypocritical in their standards - granted they have the same writers, but sometimes even with the same writer they get hypocritical - good case in point the DOA series - DOA2:HC and DOA3 got 8.0 ish scores on gamespot and the gameplay was "crap", meanwhile DOA4 got excellent gameplay and a 9.0. guess who - greg kasavan.
5.6 was much lower than i expected for N3 - sure there is not much gameplay in the game - its hack and slash, but what were they expecting? they had already played the demo, its a dynasty warriors game for crying out loud. I was expecting a 7.
