A Just Cause Demo, Just around the corner

And according to internet speculation, that could well be the case, as forum whispers are now pointing to a August 24 drop date for the Just Cause demo over Xbox Live Marketplace.

that would be cool, atari's website says September but their latest release date spreadsheet says October so i've emailed them to see if there's a set date yet and if the demo rumour is true or not :D

here's some pics from it as well.. my hypometer is starting to build for this one.. the tropical setting has me interested more than the urban Saints Row setting for some reason.

There's been little real solid info or hype about it at all.. Hope that's not a bad thing :(

I've just been watching a couple of trailers and while jumping from a helicopter and parachuting to a speed boat is kinda plausable (in a james bond way) but COME ON jumping to a jet and hanging off the wing and then hijacking the plane!.



Does look cool though.

Wasn't sure on this one even with the nice looking pictures but the achievement list makes it sound like FUN!

The list reads very similiar to a GTA game (which I'm not overly keen on) but the stunts side of it should be excellent value.

Mark down another game to add to my collection :)

Look, just because YOU can't do that doesn't mean you need to make it sound impossible :D

Any game where the impossible is made to look easy is always fun, unless it is crap, then it is just impossible stunts made to look easy but really crap

Don't get too excited. Atari are in financial trouble and might think that region coding this game will improve there profits fror the quarter. Money is a big thing for atari atm.

I've been looking forward to this since last year before there was even a 360 version announced! The fact it's on 360 now and that they've optimised it for the console makes me even more excited. It seems like a cross between Total Overdose and Tropico to me, which would be pretty hard to screw up.

I've spoken to Shane about the chance of an interview to shed a bit of light on the devs and he's contacting Atari, but given how tight-lipped Avalanche have been about the game, I'm not holding my breath. Hope the rumour about the demo is true though!

when looking at this the firt game to come to mind was Boiling point.
this looks like a more insane 3rd persion version.
i haven't read to much about this for fear of having to lay down more money which i can't afford for games.

I actually think you're more on the money than other suggestions, the look is almost identical to Once Upon A Time In Mexico, right down to the shady government operative character! I hope he's as flamboyant as Depp was!

But here's what one of the developers had to say in an interview:

Rico Rodriguez is the child of one thousand comic books and action movies. He is James Bond, Mad Max, El Mariachi, Wolverine, Punisher, Rambo, Tony Montana, Jack Bauer, Han Solo and Vincent Vega all rolled into one. With a touch of Enrique Iglesias to top it all off!
So more Enrique than Antonio...both can sing though :)

I'd love a Spanish "El Mariachi" style soundtrack and some funky Cuban music.

I think that'll be exactly what you get guys...swing by the website and it's got music playing and it says things like "chase mix" and stuff, so it's most likely based on the in-game soundtrack. Again, it reminds me of Tropico, but more modern.

I downloaded a bunch of songs from the Total Overdose soundtrack myself, there was some awesome stuff on it :thumbsup:

I just watched the demo from the MP, :thumbsup: this looks better and better (if still far fetched but thats ok), The voice sounds very Banderas, I never liked the GTA games, the Saints Row demo impressed me and I've played through a couple of times but I think I'll hang out for Just Cause.

I will play the demo when it is released and make up my mind then, but right now I'm not very interested in this game.

Just read a preview on Gamespot, where they confirm a PC demo for Thursday(24th) and speculate that the 360 demo should be out at the same time. Let's hope people have learned from the Prey demo fiasco and have gotten their act together.
