XBW goes hands on at Ubisoft Sydney..
Over the last decade, CGI animation films have experienced a steady growth, often becoming top-grossing films at the box office. Drop a name like Shrek, Finding Nemo or Madagascar and people will instantly know what you’re talking about…the reason being they not only saw the film and bought the merchandise; they probably played some form of videogame as well. The latest animated flick to boldly go where almost every other has gone before it is Open Season.

And yes, before y'all ask, this is only one of three games I got to see, and yes, Splinter Cell: Double Agent was one of them, and yes, I plan to make you wait for the article :p
In the meantime, enjoy reading about Open Season :D

I often imagine how simply cool, or even kewl perhaps, your jobs are.
But then I read things like this and see how you must suffer so. Game reviews must have a higher alchol abuse rate than oil tanker captains!

Two things.
1) What have you got against Martin Lawrence?
2) Anyone who had Splinter Cell shenanigans that ended with a 'bang' instead of a 'mffhmmff' wasn't very good.
And I, for one, am glad to hear about Open Season. This will aid me in spreading rumours that that SCDA is in fact terrible, and you guys have been paid off to withold the info until AFTER the release date. :silly:

Black Knight, Big Momma's House, Big Momma's House 2....do I really need to go on?

Well, you haven't played Double Agent, where things often end with a bang, so I'll now pity you in a condescending manner for ignorance. tsk tsk :p

Aah, if only you knew the things Ubisoft ask me to withhold. Your puny minds would collapse :chortle:

It'd be WAY cooler if I got paid for all this. Hobnobbing with the co-founder of id software and getting free drinks is pretty awesome, but getting actual money on top of that would really be the cherry and the icing :)

I'm tempted to say yes just to drive you crazy....so, yes, yes it was ;)

Not really, but it would be funny. For some reason I conjured that you had a more personal beef with him. Like he gave your sister a black eye or something.

Well you must not have been playing it right. :silly:

I think my puny mind could take it. :silly:
Are they keeping the Zidane headbutt (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9px-mYoFVg) thing as an unlockable secret?

It is pretty cool but as Dom said the pay kinda sucks. I don't mean that Shane doesn't look after us - this site is awesome to write for, but actually getting paid for written work is both difficult and irregular. A feature or review in a mag may pay a few hundred bucks, sure, but when it may take 3 months or so for each feature to make it to print it becomes obvious that a serious writer/reviewer is really only in it for the passion.
And don't worry, I'm stuck here in WA while Shane and Dom get to feel up the skirts of the big boys... bastards! :P
