Mercenaries 2 YAY!

Game Trailers has a bunch of wepisodes up for the making of Mercenaries 2 for the 360, so far the Dutch guys the only playable character thats been announced.

I loved the first game, LOOOOOOOOVED it, till I sold it to someone on this very website and have regretted it ever since! My favourite was shooting the Apache helicopter pilots with the armour piercing rifle and stealing those awesome choppers (assuming it survived the crash) and taking on the North korean Hind Gun ships.

I can't remember if Jackson died at the end of the first game but he seems suspicously absent from this game so far.

OMG!... Mercenaries 2 World in Flames as not been announced for the Xbox 360, only the damn PS3 which only the Sultan of Brunei and his immediate family will be able to afford!

OMFG!!... I can not find any information, hints, rumors anything, that M2WiF will be available for the Xbox 360 at all!

I too am anxiously waiting for the news that this game will be coming to the 360, or more importantly my 360. The first game was a hell of alot of fun even without co-op or on line play I believe even if they took the original game and added the co-op and live aspects to it they would have a smash hit of a game. I hope it's not PS3 exclusive, nay I pray it's not PS3 exclusive cause I don't want to buy that overpriced paper weight.:thumbsup:

Mercs was a great xbox game. Great graphics and gameplay with GTA elements. Some of the missions were so chaotic it really felt like a war was going on around you. Especially when just driving around from A to B and running through the middle of another fight

Look forward to seeing a sequel, even though the top-tier card missions got a bit too tough for me and I whussed out, never completing the game.

Is it worth putting in a petition on behalf of Xbox World asking for a confirmed 360 release does anyone think?

I'm really panicing that it won't come out for the 360. Its good to hear others had some problems with those high level cards, I always loved stumbling into an area and accidentally finding a hidden card and suddenly have tanks and jeeps open fire on your little Korean made Juju sedan. It was a chaotic game and the sequel looks just as wild.

no. because a) XBW doesnt have enough infulence or members to make anything big of it and b) online petitions never work.

mercs 2 hasnt been announced as exclusive for PS3, they just haven't announced any other versions and have publicly said they are consider other platforms. they haven't even got a publisher for it yet so who know what silly bugger games are going on over at pandemic.

AJ et al: I can tell you guys that waaaaay back in 2004 when I attended one of EA's "Imagine" events, the original Mercenaries was listed as a PS2 title, and as morpheos has pointed out in regards to the sequel, the word "exclusive" was never bandied about at all.

Given how closely bioware and pandemic have worked with the Xbox platform in the past (bioware in particular; none of their console games have made it to the Playstation platform), I think it's an unspoken FACT that this is a 360 title, either at the same time as the PS3 or maybe a few months later if Sony want to claim it as an "exclusive" launch title.

Just like it's a FACT that the 360 is getting Assassin's Creed, despite Ubiman's constant refusal to admit he has a copy sitting in his office that he won't let me play. These are FACTS, people :D

As a fanboy I share their optimism...but as a games writer, it's pretty obvious they've just written up the E3 vid and embellished it slightly...there's nothing at all about the article that makes it seem more likely there'll be a 360 iteration.

Of course, as one of the comments at the end of the article says, Ubisoft aren't exactly known for sticking to one console, and the Xbox 360 is a proven, established platform, so logically, practically, and financially, the game *WILL* end up on the 360. It may be a few months late if Sony buy a timed-exclusive, but it'll rock up.

Ditto for Mercenaries 2; it's just not economically viable in this day and age to limit your third-party IP to a single platform, unless you've developed for the Wii and/or Japan, and the gameplay just doesn't translate.
