I'd say it's due to the Japanese spelling/pronunciation. While the English title may have been a direct translation of the Japanese name, the pronunciation rules are quite different.
I'm keen to try it out, having never played it on PSP, but I'm not sure if I'll buy it(I think it's going to be 1200 points).

Karachi - if it's the same as the PSP version I think it's worth it - the gameplay is very addictive - think Tetris but with blocks of 4 and only 2 colours. Once you get a block of 4 the remaining blocks fall into the hole that appears - making cool gameplay possible where you 'slide' blocks down and create huge chains. As you make blocks of colour, a line sweeps across the screen and clears away all your combos, so it's also rythm based in a way.
The PSP version also had several challenges where you had to make certain shapes which were fun too :D

Merciful minerva, 1200 points!?!?! that's more than most PSPs + lumines sell for these days! :chortle:

^ Bazza is indeed correct; for 1200 points you can usually get a PSP, Lumines, 3 other games, 14 inane UMD movies, and a bunch of ShitBrand (tm) accessories, and still have a few points left over :)

Judging by this thread alone I think it'll sell quite well. As long as it's not something like 1200 points. :)

It is painful waiting for Ultimate MK3.
I have read it might be October but that is a stupid idea, considering MK Armageddon is out the same month.
The game should come out already to whet the appetite beforehand.

cant wait for Poker either. would also love to see Monopoly and Yahtzee on XBLA as well.
i wouldn't mind some info on how the Poker game will work, if you're able to continuously top up your money with no risk to your ranking that will be pretty weak. you'll end up in games where wankers always go 'all in' to try and buy hands.
maybe a cost of 10 gamerpoints for $5,000 in game dollars so there's some risk, but not much to warrant losing sleep over? there definitely needs to be some sort of system to discourage any sort of loser mentality.

As someone already said, it's unlikely MS will do that, because then you will be essentially gambling for real money. I think it's more likely you will either be able to top up your credits if you run out(accompanied with a significant rank decrease), or you will be given a certain amount of money for each game, and you keep playing hands until you have nothing left.
Remember the huge uproar when McDonalds had Neopets in their Happy Meals, just because it was linked to online games where you could gamble with imaginary money?
poker will be the best selling arcade game mark my words.
I would love to see game RISK.

No no I was reading that what Shane suggested is similar to what will be happening.
Everyone starts with 5G and if you blow that 5G you can get it back but it will be on a minus from then on. Basically this virtual amount will be forever linked to your GT. The game will have rewards for the successful and only those that have not squandered their winning will be able to play in/with the highrollers.
Don't ask me to provide the source cos I can't remember, even though I read all this last night on the net. (sorry, my own probs at the moment, se other thread).

ta for the info Sumixam, it definately needs something like that for sure. i've been playing some online poker on the pc lately and the shitfull behaviour that some players exhibit is very unsporting.
sure youre playing to win, but you shouldnt be playing simply to be an asshole. :D

I've purchase a few XBL Arcade games and out of those Geometry Wars is the only one that was worth it, although I haven't got around to playing it since I upgraded from the trial to the full game.
My opinions on the XBL Arcade games I've purchased so far:
Bankshot Billiards 2 - Got it free with my XBL kit, I've got a mate down the road who has a pool table so I never play this game, who would have thought virtual pool is more boring than the real thing!
Gauntlet - Purchased it because my sister liked it but after getting to level ~25 in co-op the novelty wore off and we haven't touched it since. Online match-making system absolutely sucked when I tried it, I could rarely find a game.
Geometry Wars - Played the trial quite a bit, but I haven't played it since I purchased the full version. Far and away the best XBL Arcade title IMO as SF2 is too stale now.
Hexic HD - I'm not really a fan of puzzle games and this game reaffirmed that, I found Tetris a lot more strategic but Hexic HD is a bit more entertaining.
UNO – I downloaded the trial and found it vastly inferior to the real game so I deleted it but how annoying is it that XBL Arcade trials come up in your XBL games played list.
I hoping the XBL Arcade get some ORIGINAL content soon as I'm sick of retro and the flash like games, they're just too simplistic.

I hate to break this to you(wait, actually, I'm not fussed), but that's basically what the XBLA is about. Simplistic games are pretty much all that's coming. If you want more complex games, you'll need to purchase retail stuff.
And don't you think it's weird to claim a game is the best, but then admit you haven't played it at all since buying it?

yeh thats about how i think of it,im sought of hopeing we get some desent arcade games like the following, daytona usa, sega rally, virtua fighter 1 and 2,and theres no reason why they couldnt port them because the file sizes would be lucky to be over 50 megs for daytona usa and sega rally.
Even the better graphics daytona 2 ive got the arcade rom on my puta and its only 160 megs so the older daytona and sega rally would be lucky to be over 50 megs.

If you want more complex games, you'll need to purchase retail stuff.Guess I was expecting too much, guess I'll have to get a Wii to get some decent budget and innovative games. And don't you think it's weird to claim a game is the best, but then admit you haven't played it at all since buying it?Nope, me and a few mates were drinking and started taking turns at the Geo Wars trial (having the 4 minute time limit was actually pretty useful) and it was hell fun, maybe it was the beer.played Cloning Clyde?A mate got it but reckoned it was so-so so I haven't bothered trying it yet.yeah kingnick you complain about retro/flash games yet it seems thats all you're playing. That's because I went on a downloading spree, tried a few XBLA games and wasn't impressed, ATM I only have 4 actual 360 games as there just aren't any other games I want. In total I'd be lucky to have spent 10 hours on XBLA games, although my sis plays them now and then.
Ironically my most played game is Halo 2, I didn't touch it for the longest time but getting XBL with the 360 put an end to that.

they pay me before the event.
I transfer all entry fees (8max) to the winner

I was just messin' with you Mr. Lobber, I figured that's how you'd do it :) Sounds good anyway...are the tables limited to 8? because a nice round $50 would be better if you could go ten-handed. EDIT: just re-read the specs and it is indeed 8 players max. Should make for a slightly shorter game anyway :)
I'm sure Shane and Deathgod will be interested in such a miniature stake game anyway, I know I'll be up for it!
