Saw these..they look like absolute rubbish crap. Spend about 300 bucks more and you can get a 23" sony bravia s series like mine.

there is no way that this panel is good enough for gaming.

The entire Telefunken range is actually assembled single handedly by a blind Yugoslavian pensioner in a cellar beneath a bar in Prague. Its common knowledge among retail folk.
well then not such a good find after all :D thanks for pointing that out! i was seriously considering going out and getting it. Will hold off though. Dont particularly have the money for it anyways :)

Mind you in the forum I posted above - there have been quite a few ppl saying that the unit is very good
I guess you talk to your local store and see if they will let you take it home, and if it doesnt live up to your expectations if they will accept a return/refund

The latest issue of CHOICE magazine has a roundup/comparison of a bunch of 81cm LCDTV's.
They reccommend the Sharp ($2399) followed by the Phillips ($2990?).
Prices of the LCD's in the roundup range from $1999 to 2999.

I wouldn't trust Choice. There not exactly audio/video experts.

The only two LCD's in the market at the moment worth considering are the Samsung R71 series and the Sony V series.
If your going to spend any less get a CRT cause gaming is horrible on cheap LCD.

LMAO you're so clueless, HDMI isn't the only difference between S and V series. There's no way I'd buy an S series over the V :chortle:
Guess you wouldn't have had much choice anyway as Mummy and Daddy would have been the ones paying for it :silly:

Yep HDMI is worth having as that is the future. HD DVD and Blu Ray have it and many DVD players today have it. Not to mention you can plug DVI into it too with a simple adapter.
Plus AVR's (surround sound amps) are starting to come with HDMI switching too. So you just plug all you devices into the AVR with a single cable and the run a single cable from the AVR to the TV.

I'm content with my 17"lcd monitor ,though i should have bought a widescreen one:banghead: movie's on the 360 are unwatchable due to it only using 50% of the screen.Game's are ok if i sit at the desk ,computer gamer's have been doing it for year's.I would love to hang a nice lcd tv on my bedroom wall, but it's just a bit to extravagant, considering we have 6 tv's in the house :chortle: .
But i could'nt stand looking at this big 51cm black box taking up valuable space in my bedroom any longer,so i put it in a cupboard in the garage along with 2 other tv's we don't use, maybe i should have a garage sale:chortle: Anyway i'm getting a hd tv tuner installed on my pc next week.At least i don't have to look at that ugly black box anymore, incidently it only became ugly once i started drooling over lcd's:D As for dvd's,i can watch them on the pc using powercinema, which give's me most of the screen.
For those of you hanging to get a hd tv,i feel your pain.Holding out til you can afford a decent one is the go espically for gaming ,but if you don't mind sitting at your desk ,i've seen LG 17 inch screen's going for $299,i paid $349 for mine about 6 month's ago. It's defiantly an affordable alternative ,rarther than spending all your hard earned on a $999 only to be disapointed.
